Greetings esteemed guests,
Thank you for your continued and valued support and interest in the Bright Lights Awards Ceremony which is brought to you in partnership with the Royal Air Force, at the Shrewsbury Town Football Club, The Croud Meadow, Oteley Rd, Shrewsbury SY2 6ST – 7pm – 1am on Friday 17 October 2025.
Since announcing that this magnificent event will take place in Shropshire, we’ve been impressed by the overwhelming interest it has generated! Once again, this will be the perfect opportunity to network and celebrate our achievements amongst our peers, friends, colleagues, families, and friends – a unique occasion not to be missed. This is a pioneering, prestigious initiative that has been borne out of a simple vision; to create an occasion which would honour the very best achievements from African-Caribbean grassroots communities, communities that are often fraught with high levels of social and economic marginalisation.
On the night, indulge in a fine dining experience crafted by Shrewsbury Town Football Club’s very own chef; a level of exquisite cuisine usually savoured only by elite footballers, top managers, and coaches. This is your chance to dine like the professionals.
This event is creating one of our most important annual proceedings, and we’re looking forward to meeting you on the night.

BOOKING DETAILS:
VENUE: Shrewsbury Town Football Club, The Croud Meadow, Oteley Rd, Shrewsbury SY2 6ST – 7pm – 1am is a highly prestigious and visually impressive venue which features a private bar, retractable dance floor, and a breathtakingly fantastic views overlooking the football pitch and stadium.
TRANSPORT: The venue is located just two miles from Shrewsbury railway station, and just over a mile away from the Meole Brace Park and Ride bus service.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: You will be pleased to know that there are a number of beautiful, ye olde English, and luxurious local hotels that are within easy reach of Shrewsbury Town Football Club. Travel Lodge Hotel, A5/A49 Roundabout Bayston Hill Services, Shrewsbury SY3 0DA 0.7 miles. The Prince Rupert Hotel, Butcher Row, Shrewsbury SY1 1UQ, which is 1.4 miles from venue. There is also the Holiday Inn Express, Sitka Drive, Shrewsbury Business Park, Shrewsbury SY2 6LG.
TABLE BOOKINGS: Tables are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis (10 per table).
PAID BAR: As well as a free drinks reception and refreshments on the table, there will be a paid bar with highly experienced bar staff.
AGE RESTRICTIONS: Strict licensing rules requires anyone under 18 years of age to be accompanied by an adult at all times whilst at the venue.
CANCELLATIONS: Full refunds can be made up to three weeks (14 days) before the event.
DRESS CODE: This is a black tie event. African cultural attire is also welcomed and positively encouraged!
FILMING and PHOTOGRAPHY: Please be advised that filming and photography will take place during the awards ceremony. By attending this event, you consent to being filmed, photographed, and otherwise recorded. This includes, but is not limited to, audio, visual, and video recordings.
