Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas is a distinguished Nigerian actor, filmmaker, and the current President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). Dr. Rollas MON began his education at Holy Trinity Primary School in Kano in 1974. He later attended Holy Ghost Juniorate Seminary in Ihiala, reflecting an early inclination towards the priesthood. However, his passion for the arts led him to engage with local theatre groups, notably the “Resident Theatre Group” led by Emmanuel Emeka Eni. Pursuing higher education, he graduated with an upper credit in Mass Communication from Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, in 2003.
Dr. Rollas MON’s acting career spans over two decades, during which he has featured in more than 100 Nollywood films, earning a strong fan base for his compelling performances. Some of his notable works include “Last Warning” (2002) and its sequel “Last Warning 2” (2002), as well as “Beyond Reason” (2004).
Beyond acting, Dr. Rollas MON is the Managing Director of Rolling Pictures Ltd., a movie production and artist management company that also offers public relations and advertising consultancy services.
Leadership in the Actors Guild of Nigeria:
His involvement with the Actors Guild of Nigeria began over 25 years ago in Onitsha, Anambra State, when it was known as the Nigeria Actors Guild (NAG). He has held various positions, including Vice Chairman and National Secretary of the Government of National Unity in 2010, where he played a pivotal role in establishing peace and lasting structures within the Guild. On August 22, 2017, he was elected as the National President of the AGN, a position he continues to hold, leading the Guild with distinction.
International Engagements and Recognitions:
Dr. Rollas MON has been actively involved in the management of non-governmental organizations for over a decade and has presented papers at various United Nations forums, including the UN General Assembly. He is known for organizing side events during UN functions, notably during the UN Conference for Sustainable Development in Brazil (UN RIO+20) in 2012, where he organised an award-winning side event for African children. His contributions have been recognised by the African Union’s ECOSOC office for his services to humanity. He is a member of the International Federation of Actors (FIA) and has travelled extensively, contributing to the global recognition of Nollywood and African cinema.
In recognition of his contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry and his service to humanity, Emeka Rollas has been honoured with the title of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).
