If you know of an African Caribbean organisation, business, or individual in the United Kingdom that demonstrates excellence within their community, we invite you to seize this opportunity to share their worthwhile contributions. Your nomination will enable us to acknowledge and celebrate their impactful work, ensuring that their efforts are not only understood but also appreciated and recognised by the broader community.
In recognising the vast and rich diversity within our beautiful community, our carefully chosen categories reflect this diversity while aligning with this year’s selected theme. We look forward to uncovering and spotlighting the outstanding achievements that make a positive difference in the lives of those within the African Caribbean community in the UK.
NOTES:
- Nominating is a simple process; you can nominate yourself, a company, an employee, a charity, an individual or anyone else whom you consider worthy of a Bright recognition. The easy-to-use, free online form only takes a few minutes to complete, and you’re welcome to make as many different nominations from the various categories as you wish.
- Finalists may be asked to provide further evidence of achievement(s).
- You can still nominate even if you’re a previous nominee, finalist, or winner.
- Nominations can be made from abroad so long as the person nominated is a UK resident (the ‘INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN’ award category can also represent those outside of the UK).
Nominees will be shortlisted by our experienced judging panel and will not be judged by the number of nominations each individual receives. Shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend the event.

We are seeking nominations in the following categories:
YOUNG ACHIEVER (16-25)
Awarded to a young person for their dedication, self-development, or significant positive impact on their community, reflecting a commitment to personal growth, and community betterment.
SECOND CHANCE ACHIEVER
Awarded to an individual who, having overcome the challenges of a past in the criminal justice system, has demonstrated remarkable resilience, personal growth, and a positive impact on their life or the lives of others.
EXCELLENCE IN BUSINESS
Awarded to an individual or business for demonstrating outstanding excellence in business practices, innovation, and overall contribution to the industry, with exemplary leadership, and impactful achievements that elevate standards and inspire others.
SERVICES TO EDUCATION
Awarded to any individual or organisation that have used their abilities, knowledge, and flair to help educate and motivate, with outstanding service, leadership that have significantly enriched and empowered others.
SERVICES TO CAMPAIGNING
Awarded to those who demonstrate unwavering dedication, investing their time and expertise that drive positive change and uplift the communities they serve with their tireless advocacy, and commitment to making improvements.
SERVICES TO YOUTH ENGAGEMENT
Awarded to those who engage with young people involved in risk-taking behaviour, acknowledging their efforts and their dedication to guiding youth toward new opportunities and shaping a brighter future.
OVERCOMING ADVERSITY (adult)
Awarded to an adult an individual who has triumphed over significant adversity. Recognizing extraordinary resilience, courage, unwavering determination, and the ability to overcome formidable challenges.
OUTSTANDING PARENTAL GUIDANCE
Awarded to an exemplary parent or guardian in recognition of their guidance and nurturing, and acknowledging their unwavering commitment, wisdom, love, and their pivotal role in providing steadfast support and positive influence.
SERVICES TO HEALTH
Awarded to who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, expertise, and impact through innovative healthcare practices, advocacy, or transformative initiatives and promoting the well-being of individuals and communities and having a positive influence.
SERVICES TO WRITING
Awarded to an individual for their outstanding services to the written word. Whether through literary achievements, impactful storytelling, or influential contributions to the writing community, and their enduring commitment to the art and craft of writing.
YOUTH MENTORING
Awarded to those those who have shown exceptional dedication to youth mentoring, for their impact on the lives of young people through support, and positive influence, and having a pivotal role in shaping the personal and educational journeys of young people.
SERVICES TO ARTS & CULTURE
Awarded to those who have made an impact through their dedication, creativity, and influence in the realms of visual arts, performance, or cultural preservation, and acknowledging their services that have enriched and elevated the artistic and cultural tapestry of society.
BEST SOUND SYSTEM
Awarded to the most outstanding in the this field, and to celebrate a talent in delivering exceptional audio experiences, music selection, technical skill, and crowd engagement, and demonstrating a unique ability to elevate events and create memorable atmosphere to the artistry and vibrancy of the industry.
BEST COMEDIAN
Awarded to an an individual who consistently delivers exceptional humour, wit, and entertainment with their unique comedic style, versatility, and the ability to connect with audiences through stand-up, improvisation, or other comedic mediums, and a genuine talent for making people laugh.
BEST ONLINE MEDIA
Awarded to an exceptional platform or content creator that has demonstrated excellence in delivering engaging, informative, and innovative content with a commitment to quality, creativity, and audience engagement through storytelling, impactful reporting in the ever-evolving landscape of online media.
INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN
To be announced on the night.
UNIFORMED ROLE MODEL
Awarded to an individual who, through their service and conduct, sets a commendable standard within their respective uniformed profession. Whether in the military, law enforcement, fire service or other uniformed services, the recipient is acknowledged for embodying qualities such as leadership, integrity, and dedication.
