2025 Finalists
We are delighted to announce the finalists of the ‘Bright Lights Nominations’.
We had a stellar line-up of candidates which were whittled down by our equally stellar line-up of judges following a truly spectacular number of nominations from the public.
Given the breadth and diversity of our beautiful community, the categories were selected to reflect this.
We’ve seen many incredible submissions, and we’ve been blown away by everyone’s talent and drive, and it’s been an incredibly tough job choosing who to put through to the next stage, but the judges have enjoyed reviewing the nominations.
No public voting is required from here onwards, our Judging panel will decide on the overall winners which will be announced on the night.

YOUNG ACHIEVER (16-25)
Awarded to a young person for their dedication, self-development, or significant positive impact on their community, reflecting a commitment to personal growth, and community betterment.
SECOND CHANCE ACHIEVER
Awarded to an individual who, having overcome the challenges of a past in the criminal justice system, has demonstrated remarkable resilience, personal growth, and a positive impact on their life or the lives of others.
EXCELLENCE IN BUSINESS
Awarded to an individual or business for demonstrating outstanding excellence in business practices, innovation, and overall contribution to the industry, with exemplary leadership, and impactful achievements that elevate standards and inspire others.
SERVICES TO EDUCATION
Awarded to any individual or organisation that have used their abilities, knowledge, and flair to help educate and motivate, with outstanding service, leadership that have significantly enriched and empowered others.
SERVICES TO CAMPAIGNING
Awarded to those who demonstrate unwavering dedication, investing their time and expertise that drive positive change and uplift the communities they serve with their tireless advocacy, and commitment to making improvements.
SERVICES TO SPORT
Awarded to individuals or organisations who have shown exceptional commitment, expertise, and impact in the realm of sports, creating excellence, inclusivity, and inspiration, while advancing the positive influence of sport within communities and beyond.
OVERCOMING ADVERSITY (adult)
Awarded to an adult an individual who has triumphed over significant adversity. Recognizing extraordinary resilience, courage, unwavering determination, and the ability to overcome formidable challenges.
OUTSTANDING PARENTAL GUIDANCE
Awarded to an exemplary parent or guardian in recognition of their guidance and nurturing, and acknowledging their unwavering commitment, wisdom, love, and their pivotal role in providing steadfast support and positive influence.
SERVICES TO HEALTH
Awarded to who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, expertise, and impact through innovative healthcare practices, advocacy, or transformative initiatives and promoting the well-being of individuals and communities and having a positive influence.
SERVICES TO WRITING
Awarded to an individual for their outstanding services to the written word. Whether through literary achievements, impactful storytelling, or influential contributions to the writing community, and their enduring commitment to the art and craft of writing.
YOUTH MENTORING
Awarded to those those who have shown exceptional dedication to youth mentoring, for their impact on the lives of young people through support, and positive influence, and having a pivotal role in shaping the personal and educational journeys of young people.
SERVICES TO ARTS & CULTURE
Awarded to those who have made an impact through their dedication, creativity, and influence in the realms of visual arts, performance, or cultural preservation, and acknowledging their services that have enriched the artistic and cultural tapestry of society.
SERVICES TO MUSIC
Awarded to individuals or organisations who have made outstanding contributions to the music industry, showcasing exceptional talent, dedication, and innovation, while inspiring audiences, nurturing creativity, and enriching cultural heritage.
SERVICES TO FOOD & DRINKS
Awarded to an individual or business that demonstrates outstanding service and dedication to the food and drink industry, whether through exceptional hospitality, unique dining concepts, expert craftsmanship, or commitment to customer satisfaction.
BEST ONLINE MEDIA
Awarded to an exceptional platform or content creator who has demonstrated excellence in delivering engaging, informative, and innovative content with a commitment to quality, creativity, and audience engagement through storytelling or impactful reporting.
INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN
This will be announced on the night.
UNIFORMED ROLE MODEL
Awarded to an individual who, through their service and conduct, sets a commendable standard within their respective uniformed profession. Whether in the military, law enforcement, fire service or other uniformed services, the recipient is acknowledged for embodying qualities such as leadership, integrity, and dedication.
